What is red clover extract?
Red clover extract is a brown-green powder obtained by extracting, concentrating and drying the inflorescences and flowering stems and leaves of the perennial herb red clover. Red clover extract is obtained from dried stems and flowered leaves, and the extracts are usually standardized to contain 8%, 20% and 40% biochanin. The ingredients include formononetin, biochanin A, daidzein and genistein.
The active ingredient of this extract is isoflavones. Compared with other phytoestrogens, it has high estrogen activity and plays an important role in preventing breast cancer, prostate cancer, colon cancer, improving osteoporosis and improving women's menopausal symptoms. Therefore, red clover extract is widely used in health food. It has almost no calories and is not fattening; it is safe for long-term consumption.
